During the journey of having the sacred pipe blessed, we were broken down for some hours while our brakes were being repaired. While sitting there, a young Navajo man and I talked about ceremonial singing. he told me a good ceremonial song is made from in front of the teeth. he also noted that most modern people speak and sing from behind their teet. I found the observation remarkable and later made this paing about the idea.
